What Should I do Now?
Contact me and discuss the type of ceremony you would like and my availability on that date and time. Arrange a meeting with me at a mutually convenient time and place. I can then post you the Notice of Intended Marriage Form (NOIM) together with a request for other particulars - or download form (see Legal Requirements). Alternatively these can be completed at the first meeting with me.
Then
We have our first meeting and confirm the wedding details once the Notice of Intended Marriage form is lodged. Pay the Booking fee - which will confirm the date and is non refundable. Bring documents as discussed on the phone e.g. birth certificates, Decree Absolute Complete, sign and lodge Notice of Intended Marriage form with me. Discuss details of the ceremony - including readings, music, special wishes e.g. candle ceremony, rose ceremony, cultural input. I will give you a package of information to help with ideas and choices for ceremony. Arrange a time for our next meeting usually 2 weeks before the ceremony. Arrange an alternate venue if it is an outdoor wedding.
1 month and 1 day prior to the wedding
Ensure that the Notice of Intended Marriage is completed and lodged with me
2 Weeks before the Wedding
Provide me with a draft of your wedding ceremony if not already done so on email or hard copy. Sign a declaration stating that you know the person you are to marry and there is no reason that you know of why the marriage cannot take place. Confirm the wedding details - time, date, venue address, parking arrangements. Confirm table is available for the signing of the documents. Confirm the names of the Witnesses. Arrange rehearsal if required, at venue (if convenient) or another suitable venue.
2 Days before the Wedding
Telephone or email me 2 days before the ceremony to confirm all arrangements.
On The Day
Full settlement of any outstanding monies is due.
