FOCCUS

My wife, Jenny, and I are also accredited facilitators of the FOCCUS pre-marriage preparation program. FOCCUS is a diagnostic instrument designed to help couples learn more about themselves and their unique relationship. It is not a test and not meant as a predictor of success or failure in marriage. It is a tool to help couples name and work through issues before marriage.

Crafting the Wedding Ceremony

Following the initial interview and booking a date for your ceremony subsequent appointments will be planned to develop the details of the ceremony that meet your vision. All contacts whether by telephone, internet or face to face meetings are regarded as important. All meetings will be in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere to discuss your special day. Meetings can be arranged anywhere that is mutually convenient such as at my home office, your home or a coffee shop.

I will work with you to create a complete ceremony that meets your wishes. The actual length of the ceremony is determined by those elements and other significant persons you wish to include. As a guide, an average ceremony would take between 15 to 25 minutes. It might include such elements as a welcome, introduction and explanation of the importance of marriage, presentation and/or indication of support for the bride and groom by members of the their families, readings of a verse or scripture of special significance for the bride and groom, a statement of intention to marry by the groom and bride and sharing of vows, perhaps an exchange of rings or other symbols, completion of the marriage documentation and presentation of the newly married couple for the first time as "husband and wife".

Unlimited consultation by phone or email is encouraged to ensure that your needs are heard and that the process is as flexible and accommodating as possible. This is supposed to be fun!

A comprehensive package of helps is available to assist couples in developing their own unique ceremonies and rehearsals can be arranged either on site, if available, or at a suitable venue.
